Notes
Reader annotations in the Community Notes discipline. A note needs a source. It shows immediately. It is promoted only when people who usually disagree both rate it helpful. The site holds no personal data about anyone who writes one.

Notes rank v1
A note is Currently rated helpful when it has at least 5 ratings, at least 70 percent helpful, and helpful raters from at least 2 rating history clusters. It is Currently rated not helpful at 5 or more ratings and under 30 percent helpful. Everything else stays Needs more ratings. Ranks recompute hourly. Clusters recompute nightly from how each rater agrees with others on shared notes.
Identity is a random pseudonym issued by the server in a cookie. No email, no name, no IP address is stored. IP addresses are hashed with a salt that rotates daily, used only to limit how many notes one connection can post, and the hashes are deleted after two days. You can post as a different pseudonym at any time by clearing the cookie.
A note may not contain personal data about anyone. The form rejects email addresses, phone numbers, and street addresses. Three personal data reports withhold a note automatically pending review. Withheld notes show a public reason and count toward the public withheld tally.

Submissions go to the editor's queue, not straight to the site, because a published pair is the site's content rather than yours. You are credited by pseudonym when it publishes.

You own your words. You must cite a source. You may not post personal data about anyone, threats, or content that is unlawful where you are. Notes are user content, shown as user content, and the site does not review them before they appear. To report a note use the Report control on it.
